1. Garden of the Gods

This place is truly amazing.
Standing among the towering red rock formations, you feel like you’ve stepped into a painting.
I’ve walked the main trail, and it’s a simple, paved path that winds right through the heart of the most incredible scenery.
You can take your time, get up close to the giant rocks, and just enjoy the scale of it all.
If you’re not up for a walk, the scenic drive is fantastic, with plenty of spots to pull over and take photos.
Going at sunrise or sunset is the secret, because the way the light hits the rocks and makes them glow is something you’ll never forget.
It’s a perfect spot to just breathe it all in.
2. Red Rock Canyon

If you want a taste of the Garden of the Gods without all the crowds, you have to visit Red Rock Canyon.
I’ve hiked the trails here, and it feels like a hidden gem.
It has the same beautiful red rock formations, but the atmosphere is quieter and more peaceful.
The trails range from easy walks to more challenging hikes, so there’s something for everyone.
I loved finding the old quarries and seeing the layers of history in the rocks.

The views of the mountains are stunning, and you’ll feel like you have the whole place to yourself.
3. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

This is no ordinary zoo!
It’s built right into the side of a mountain, which makes for some of the best views around.
I’ve been here, and feeding the giraffes from a raised platform was a definite highlight.
They are so gentle and their long necks are amazing!
The mountain setting means you get to walk uphill a bit, which is great exercise and gives you incredible views of Colorado Springs and the plains below.
The zoo is clean, the animals look happy, and there are so many fun exhibits to explore.
Don’t miss the grizzly bears, the big cats, or the new gorilla exhibit. It’s a full day of fun for everyone.
4. Manitous Cliff Dwellings

I’ve always been fascinated by history, and visiting the Manitou Cliff Dwellings was like stepping into a living museum.
These are real Anasazi ruins that were carefully moved and rebuilt right here in Manitou Springs.
You can walk right inside the ancient homes and feel what life might have been like for the people who lived there over 700 years ago.
It’s so unique to be able to touch the walls and see the small rooms up close.
The site is a little smaller and more personal than other ruins you might visit, which makes the experience feel very special.
It’s a quick and easy way to see a piece of ancient history right in the mountains.
5. The Seven Falls

If you love the sound of rushing water and beautiful scenery, you have to see The Seven Falls.
I’ve walked the path that takes you right up to this series of waterfalls, and it’s truly breathtaking.
The water tumbles down seven different sections, creating a beautiful and powerful show.
You can take the stairs, all 224 of them, right up the side of the falls for an amazing view from the top. Or, if you prefer, an elevator takes you to a viewpoint.
I highly recommend going all the way to the top to cross the bridges and see the beautiful canyon from above.
It’s a great hike and a perfect way to feel refreshed and connected to nature.
6. Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum

I’ve always found local history fascinating, and the Pioneer Museum is the perfect place to learn the story of Colorado Springs.
This museum is inside a beautiful old courthouse, which is a sight in itself.
When you go inside, you’ll find exhibits that tell you all about the people and events that shaped the area.
I especially enjoyed seeing the old photos and items from daily life long ago.
It’s not a huge place, so it’s easy to walk through and perfect for a quick stop.
Best of all, it’s free! It’s a great way to get a real feel for the city’s past and the amazing people who built it.
7. ProRodeo Hall Of Fame & Museum

If you’ve ever wanted to feel the thrill of the rodeo without getting on a bull, you have to visit this place.
I was surprised by how much I learned about the history and heroes of the sport.
It’s not just about cowboys; it’s about the entire culture.
You’ll see famous saddles, buckles, and learn the stories of the biggest names in rodeo.
My favorite part was seeing the trophies and old photos that show just how much has changed over the years.
It’s a great way to spend a few hours and get a real feel for this unique piece of American history.
You’ll leave with a new appreciation for the bravery of these athletes.
8. Helen Hunt

If you’re looking for a peaceful little getaway, you have to find Helen Hunt Falls.
Tucked away in a beautiful canyon, this waterfall is a true gem.
I’ve been here, and the short walk up to the falls is easy and beautiful, following the creek as it tumbles over rocks.
You can stand right at the base and feel the cool mist on your face.
For those who want more of a challenge, there’s a set of stairs that takes you to the very top, where you can get a different view of the water and the stunning canyon below.
It’s the perfect spot for a quick visit to enjoy the sound of the water and get some fresh mountain air.
9. Nancy Lewis Park

I’ve been to many parks, but Nancy Lewis has a little extra charm.
It’s a peaceful spot tucked into a neighborhood, and it feels like a secret garden.
The best part? The stunning view of Pikes Peak in the background.
My kids loved the playground, with its fun slides and swings.
There’s also a big grassy field that’s perfect for a game of catch or just laying in the sun.
It’s a perfect place to relax, have a picnic, and let the kids burn off some energy while you soak in the beautiful mountain scenery.
10. Lost Island Miniature Golf & Adventure Park

Ready for some friendly competition? Lost Island is the perfect place for it.
I’ve played a round of mini-golf here, and the course is a lot of fun.
It’s got a cool tropical island theme with waterfalls, caves, and fun little challenges on every hole.
It’s a great spot for a date or a family outing.
The adventure park also has go-karts and other games, so you can make a full day of it.
